But then, If I recall correctly, her dad, in a certain TV series was often referred to, as a "scarse git"!

i don't like her either and wouldn't have watched it, not that i do watch it much these days because there must be some really interesting families from poor backgrounds they never seem to look for.. :-)

I believe her mothers father was a miner who became a colliery manager.

Quite right too Sheila.....no ag labs, very little food. I am very proud of all my ancestors, not a wealthy one among them :-D

I got fed up with WDYTYA after 2 series, when I could see that they were going to go for the 'glitzy' trees and milk the emotions for all they could. I think a tree is a very personal thing and I can't get as excited by anyone else's tree as I do by my own (which may be 'boring' but it's MINE :-D :-D).

Anyway, why are generations of labourers considered boring? Salt of the earth as far as I'm concerned <3

I wonder though, exactly what do they mean by 'boring'......boring to the mainstream viewers because of a lack of scandal perhaps? But I doubt any would be deemed boring to the likes of us.
What I find boring these days about WDYTYA is that they follow the same old format, making it look so easy peasy. :-(

I would imagine there are plenty of GR members with family histories which would make absolutely fascinating stories....to enthusiasts like ourselves.
Sadly, without being a 'celeb' there's no way WDYTYA would be in the least bit interested :-(
