I've just discovered that I've got two firewalls working at the same time.
Norton firewall and Windows firewall.
Is it ok to leave them as they are, or will they be conflicting with each other?

no they will conflict.
If Norton is fairly recent ( 2012 or better ) then go with it.

I just had to have a man look at my computer as like you I suddenly had both on my laptop, they cancelled each other out and I ended up with NO protection.

This caused untold problems with malware etc.,

It took him 2 and half hours to sort it all out. As what he thought would be a simple case of deleting/removing both and then reinstalling just the Norton, was just not that simple. The windows firewall is an absolute mare to get rid of.

I wanted only the Norton, I update it bi-annually (saves quite a bit of dosh) and I trust it. Once it was reinstated it then went through all the updates!

But am now safe again. This was all done last Wednesday. :-D

Hi DazedConfused,
I found out because my computer crashed and restarted again, telling me that I may have two antivirus programmes that would conflict. I followed the instructions, and found that I only had one antivirus programme, but two Firewalls. Following the advice of Rollo, we then uninstalled Windows firewall, and stayed with Norton firewall.
The computer seems to be working okay again now.

Glad your computer is okay again Dazed.
