When I was just a little lad,
certain things made me mad.
Mum, she’d scream, dad he shouts,
“Eat your bleedin’ Brussel Sprouts! ”

So I’d place one in my mouth.
Down my throat heading south,
Hit my Stomach and of course,
Brussel Sprout: heading north.

like a bullet it flew out,
That bleedin’ rotten Brussel Sprout.
Across the table it did fly,
Hit my father in the eye.
Then my father gave a clout,
I didn’t eat, that Brussel Sprout.

Now; mum and dad they don’t shout,
“Eat that bleedin Brussel Sprout! ”
With mum and dad I’ve made some deals
No more Sprouts with my meals.

A year as passed , can you believe it.

Where is the Lady of the Valleys I wonder, she could of thumbed a lift on that rocket you know, gawd knows where she will end up :-D

My favorite vegetable, without a doubt,
Is the humble, but holy, Brussels sprout.
I cook them until they're really soft;
Around my house, their aroma wafts.

I eat them with curries and with pies;
I eat them with burgers and with fries.
With many a dish, they go really well,
But, once digested, they produce an odd smell.

Their tangy taste, I so love to savour:
To any meal, they add real flavour.
I simply adore their wonderful taste -
Once on my plate, they won't go to waste.

Some think it quite weird that I am so keen
On these marvelous morsels, small and green.
I can eat Brussels sprouts by the bunch -
Even in a sandwich for my lunch.

Despite their dreadful reputation,
With Brussels, I have a fascination.
They're a vegetable which people love or hate:
They're slated by some, but we are best mates.

I eat Brussels sprouts every day -
I don't care what other folk say.
I just couldn't imagine my life without
The humble, but holy, Brussels sprout.
