	Yes a very good question at this time of the year. Magpies are monogamous which is why it is often considered bad luck to see just the one (hence the rhyme - "One for sorrow, two for joy etc etc").

	Magpies as well as others - you seem to have an interest and the RSPB is a great charity that answers all of your genuine questions. I don't profess to be an expert ornithologist but I will endeavour to answer your posts in your quest to become better informed about feathered species.
