Book folding

Has anyone tried book folding? I have been looking on the internet and it seems relatively straightforward and a good way of making use of old books that no-one seems to want and I could donate the finished products to a local charity shop I support. Wondered if anyone else has tried it and if so how they got on.

I also had to google. I thought the results were beautiful but my first thought was how would you go about dusting them. I would imagine that they're great dust collectors.

I was thinking about trying hedgehogs first Mersey. There are also some other fairly simple patterns that I might give a go. I do agree Susan10146857 that it is sacrilege to fold a book however the best ones to use are the discoloured paperbacks that do not sell in the charity shops so folding is a way of raising some money for charity shops from an item that would otherwise go in to landfill. I have got some discoloured books that I keep for various reasons and am happy to reread but the cheap paperbacks that are discoloured are of no use and cannot be resold. Personally I wouldn't want a book folding because in my opinion they would just be dust collectors but I am told that they are becoming increasing popular.
