There's nothing like a bit of shaking and jiggling in the shower.

Electricity comes into our houses via a cable that stretches from a pole across the road and is attached to our wall near the front bedroom window.

This cable is a favourite perch for birds, particularly collared doves and I watch them for a longtime sometimes without their noticing me. They even sit on the window sill just a couple of feet from me without noticing and I really am visible to the naked eye!

Anyway, it was raining the other day, strange as you might find that to believe, and one lone collared dove sat on the cable. I thought it looked a bit lonely and might be distressed because it was kind of wriggling.

Then I realized what the wriggling was all about as it became more pronounced. The tail gave a bit of a shake and the wing went up , collared dove did a bit of a rolling motion.

He was enjoying a shower.

Eventually, after some shaking and jiggling, he flew away refreshed.
