There's a recumbent cycle at the physio, but I was told I have to use an upright bike.

I haven't got on it today, because getting on & off us more than uncomfortable, difficult to do without turning my leg out, which I'm not allowed to do (definitely NOT said the physio). DH is looking for a great lump of wood (or something similar) to make a step for me. I don't want to risk ripping any stitches or pulling a muscle :-(

You should see me get out of bed! Move gently to the side, cross ankles & lock knees, swing legs out of bed, grab crutches....... push up, putting weight on "good" leg.....I won't go into the bathroom sagas.

Geez Dermot..... I really hope my backside doesn't take the shape of the bike seat! :-( :-(

I've just been to my physio, and he worked my back over, trying to undo the damage done by the 6 hour coach ride from Toronto to Montreal on October 7

I have now been sitting in my usually comfortable computer chair for about 2 hours with a hot beanie bag at my back

I have always liked the look of the recumbent ones. You could read the paper or have your breakfast while your legs are going round and round.

Scozz buy a gel saddle cover. Saves an achey B*M :-D :-D :-D

LadyScozz - There is no such thing as a 'comfortable' bike saddle. The rider’s posterior will, however, gradually reshape itself to the contours of whatever product is available & all will be well. No pain - no gain.

Not much help, am I? ;-)

:-D

Stationary exercise bike ,,, I'm not crazy (or fit) enough to get out on the road.

The physio worked on my leg yesterday, supposed to be "light" massage...... I didn't enjoy it.... and was hurting like hell this morning.

Next stage, the bike. The worst part was getting on the thing (and getting off again)......... trying to climb on without turning the wonky leg the wrong way. I was told to do two minutes to start with, I could have done more, but must do as I was told. Pushing ONLY with the "good" leg for now. I'll do another two minutes later. I need some padding for that bike seat.... thought there was enough padding on my backside :-D

I keep reminding myself that a cousin is a cycling Olympian!!!!!!!! His bike moves, mine goes nowhere. :-)
