Did you know....there is a new series of 'The Tunnel'? Still as muffley as the original, but we'll turn up the volume ;-)

heh heh ....

my lineal line comes from ... yep, Leicester :-) though I mostly support my community club at the Emirates community centre. At least the poor citizens of Islington can get tickets for less than the fiften grand a pair apparently shelled out by the wealthy Tigers.

Getting back to Peaky Blinders (some time residents of Aston), Happy Valley, the Bridge etc being dark with poor sound.

Consumer digital TVs have changed a lot in the last 10 years so much so that even top line TVs from 2006 are now very much also rans. The national habit of keeping a TV for 20 years and maybe more has a significant downside. Color display techniques and backlightiing have changed a lot.

The broadcaster is pushing out as sharp and nuanced a picture as possible. This may be seen by the viewer as muddy and dark especially if not watching in HD. That said most sets have a raft of controls for tuning the picture which more often than not are never used. Give them a try.

The same applies to sound. The remote controller has a bunch of controls for tuning sound. If that is not enough a sound bar is not very costly and can make a huge difference with programs such as BBC Drama and Game of Thrones - much cheaper than a new set!

Teams can survive relegation, going bust and still bouce back eg Bournemouth, Southampton and Rangers. All Villa needs are some football players. Right now my count is that it has two.
Little known factoid: Brave Dave claims to have been a life long Villa supporter.

Went past the Villa training ground recently. They had the usual security on the gates, not to keep the fans out, but to keep the players in.

Not seen Peaky Blinders but have stood in the stands of Villa Park. Am wearing a black armband. :-(

Yes, Rollo. I started to watch the show at the beginning but the darkness put me right off. Otherwise, I would have said it was my type of programme - as is Happy Valley.

The Peaky Blinders are located in Aston. Where there's brass there's money.

Aston Villa? Who are they when they're at home? ;-)

We have Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle and Sunderland supporters in our immediate family. Poor dears :-0 :-(

Dad was for Arsenal. :-D
