:-D :-D :-D - we do things like go to the harbour at 5am to watch the fishing boats come in, then go to sleep after lunch - and awake to find the house empty - then go to the pub and 'fall asleep' while dinner is being cooked :-)
We're not daft!
I sometimes play with the lego :-D

My sister is 'Grandma', and I'm 'Granny' - all grandchildren/great nieces/nephews refer to us in this way.
We (my sister and I) can see the difference in 'respect' we had for our grandparents, compared to the 'respect' our grandchildren have for us.
It's hilarious. We were terrified of our grandparents.

Last year on a long walk up a hill, I suggested Grandma and Granny. were 'decrepit' - and if the grand wotsits could spell it - they could use it - my sister helped them.
Then we realised we couldn't decide how it was spelt!! (sister was wrong!)
We sincerely hoped we weren't 'screwing up' our grandchildren/great nieces/nephews, but then decided- what the hell :-D

This year, I fear, we will be the 'decrepit two'

I'd "bugger off" too............ for a few quiet minutes.

:-D

It's amazing how many pubs are quiet.

Being the family genealogist has it's 'problems'.
Informing my 3 siblings that their gg uncle was imprisoned for trying to derail a train, and their lovely Cornish granny was in prison in 1939 for 68 charges of fraud was bad enough.
My nephew posted a lovely photo on FB of his 9 year old daughter (that will be my great niece) holding my 14 month old grand daughter (my younger daughter and nephew live within half a mile of each other), which he titled 'cousins'.
As the family genealogist, I had to point out that they were SECOND cousins, but it was still very sweet :-)
This grand daughter has yet to discover the joys of a family holiday - when my sister and I book a remote house and invite my two children and her two children and offspring (if they have any) to live with us for a week.
So far it's been sister, her son, his partner and their 2 children, me, my elder daughter, and her 3 children. It will be the same this year, but hope younger daughter, her husband and daughter, and sister's daughter can join us next year.

We get on amazingly well - but last year it was noted by the youngest generation that the 'grannies' appeared to 'bugger off' (not their words - but we did) on their own!! :-D
