I have had two dates for my knee replacement surgery and it was a big c..k up by the hospital after rejecting me for surgery due to reduced iron level in August 2019

Was rejected again in Oct because the hospital hadn’t sent my doc the discharge letter so nothing was done

Have had two iron transfusions and blood tests in Dec and the results were normal so the doc said irons ok
Doc said he would write to the hospital to say go ahead with the op

Since then zilch till today and they want me to go again for the pre op assessment next week

Tbh I am peed off with it all ,if I didn’t need the op I would say forget it as I have absolutely no confidence in them

Even one of the senior staff told me to put in a complaint but my response was whats the point you can’t undo what hasn’t been done

My doctor too was miffed cos it made them look inefficient cos they didn't follow up but they didn’t know the op hadn’t been done


Soooo we are back to having a new pre op assessment that was previously done in May 2019

I will go to it and wait for a new operation date

I need to be up and running before sept cos I am going to spend a month with our youngest sister in Canada and we will be doing a two week Hawaiian while I am there
