This morning I was hearing a ping ping noise and was looking where it could be coming from.

it went on for hours, sounding off every few minutes. Driving me bonkers.

was it the fire alarm, was it the house alarm, was it the carbon monoxide thingy noooooo. I was tracking it, it sounded like my printer which was off. :-S :-S

then I heard it louder under my desk, Pulled out a disconnected phone, one of the three that had been down there for a week or more, broken. I pulled it out and it had a message on it to recharge the battery. how the hell could that happen with no leccy :-S :-S :-S
