@ncestry handles all this kind of thing - step relations, multiple marriages, same sex , cohab, fostering etc etc with aplomb.

I think that the total inability of GR Tree to deal with life as it is (complicated) rather than straight up and down relationships is why so many people have moved on rather than cost as such.

Yes, I agree - you can't add foster parents when you already have the birth parents on your tree.

A note added is the only way to mention the foster parents.

Thank you for replying - I'll email them and I've done as you suggested with the side panel - thanks again

I don't think you can add foster parents on the Genes tree (although [email protected] should be able to tell you for certain).

You could always open your father's record and on the slide out panel at the side where his parent's names come up you could add the foster parent's names in the box for notes under that.

Hello - I've just picked up my family tree again after a few years break (but I've always kept my subscription going so I didn't lose any information) ….can anyone tell me please if there is the ability/facility to add foster parents onto the tree? I've got my fathers real parents but he was fostered out during the war and I want to record this - as these foster parents were who I knew and loved as my grandparents. Thank you
