There has been a spike in CoVid 19 cases in Victoria, mainly in some districts in Melbourne, and guess what, people are again stockpiling toilet paper/

This, despite the fact that was no longer a shortage and despite such an item not being necessary even if you do come down with the illness.

The panic buying has spread to NSW and both major supermarket chains have once again imposed national purchasing limits on toilet paper and other 'essential items such as hand sanitisers, pasta, rice etc.

This is galling to those of us in WA who will be affected by the selfish actions of a few over East, particularly as next month all restrictions around crowd numbers, social gatherings etc are to be lifted in totality. The only restriction not being relaxed is the border restriction

Perhaps the border between WA and the rest of Australia should remain closed indefinitely :-|

There are certainly a lot of very selfish people around and this virus has exposed them.

No doubt a lot of the toilet paper (unfortunately used) is scattered across our beautiful beaches as selfish people travel there in thousands knowing facilities are not yet open. What are people thinking. and, no doubt if it is published in the paper about the shortage in australia a few here will start a panic buying spree here.

Von, yes the Army (Medics) has been called in to help in Victoria with contact tracing, swabbing etc. This will be in Melbourne where the latest spike is occurring.

Meanwhile, the Feds have now relaxed the four square metre per person rule, only two square metres are now required. The Victorian State Government is sticking to the old distance which has caused an outcry in the Victorian hospitality industry which want the distancing rules abandoned completely.

That might work in country areas but certainly not in Melbourne, and if it did happen how could you prevent people, who may be infected from going to those country areas (think beaches in the UK)

Ann, I've come to the conclusion that some people just don't think, full stop

Well, looking down south from where I live ...... it's obvious a lot of Americans aren't thinking :-( :-P

At the beginning of the lockdown it was commented that the Americans were stocking up on guns and ammo and the British were stocking up on toilet paper.

The conclusion is that the British were shi**ing themselves whereas the Yanks were planning to shoot anyone who tried to nick their toilet paper.

And that, my friends, is the difference between shi**ng and shooting.
