Hi I'm hoping someone can help I've been trying to find out how to find details of a relative born in Spain between 1890 and 1892 he is on the 1901 census as saying born in Spain and I'm hitting a brick wall as to find out why his parents where in Spain and also his birth certificate

Thanks in advance

Could his father have been in the armed forces and they were in Spain for some reason? Have you looked to see if there were any reason for the British Army to have been in Spain at that time?

For many years I and others have been trying to find the details of my Great grandfathers birth as on several censuses he says he was born in France so a similar problem. And no success at all so far.

What was his father's occupation? Maybe that will give you an idea of why they were there.

Are you saying he was in UK in 1901? If so he would probably have been in the first world war as he would have been in his 20s then, can you find his military records.
