There is a North East Police history society which looks as though it maybe Facebook based. They do seem to have some sort of tie- in with the Beamish museum.

If you can't find the family, a local museum may be interested, or will know which museum will be interested.

In the 1891 census Ada Scott is living in Hartlepool with her step mother Anne Scott and half sister Laura.

There is a marriage for an Ada Scott in Hartlepool in the third quarter of 1891 that could be a possibility.

Joseph Scott was stationed at Jarrow when he died. The newspaper report says he had a brother, Percival, who was also a Superintendent working at the Castle Eden Division of the Force.

The murderer of Superintendent Scott was Benjamin Wright who had been dismissed from the Force on the instigation of Joseph Scott.
