Island, go to settings and then find the 'personalization' tab and press on that. You can change the background etc

Getting there but now all icons are grey :-(

Island, you can soften the black text on white background easily. Go into Settings, click on System and then on Display and you will be able to adjust the brightness to suit your eyes.

Ah...... I've just got yellow emoticon's and coloured profile pic back :-D :-D :-D

might have to get used to black background :-(

Found colour filters in a rounabout way.

White text on black must have been across the board when I changed the glaring desktop - with hideous busy blue flower :-0 - to plain dark back ground.
Now my emoticons are grey :-0

Black text on white background is far too bright - can this be softened?

I shall have to get someone with better eyes to sory this for me

To change a black background with white text on your Windows 11 PC to a normal color scheme, go to your Settings > Accessibility > Color Filters and ensure the "Color Filters" toggle is turned off; this likely has accidentally been activated, causing the grayscale display.

Only just come on here go to settings and see if there is anything in personalisation that will help
I have just also had a new desk top but print and background is normal on my W11.

I have windows 11 and have got used to it, but I don't have white print on black. Printwise everything is as usual.

Try going into settings and see if you can change it.

Oh that sounds strange. I had new laptop Christmas and honestly haven't had anything like that. I had windows 8.1 before this one and everything was a bit weird to start with, still is actually. :-D

Thanks Ginnie, I got it this week with my new laptop. It's the worst I've known :-( Windows 10 was a doddle.
So many sites are white text on black background which I find difficult. I'm wondering if this is the same for all W11 users or can it be changed?

I do but I doubt I could help if you are having a problem of any kind. I am not very savvy with tech. Sorry!
