On my mum's side:

My g g uncle, James Prior, was the first person to attempt a train robbery.
This happened in 1851, at Cheddington - where the 'Great Train Robbery' of 1963 took place.
The judge didn't know how long to put him in prison - no-one had done this before - so gave him 2 years.
He spent this time in Peckham Lunatic asylum, escaping twice.

1842 - My g x 4 grandad, Henry Floyd, was (apparently) the heaviest man in England, when he died. see pic.

On my dad's side:
My gran was in Cornish newspapers quite a bit :-S

My g x lots grandparents, Capt. John Killigrew, and his wife Lady Elizabeth (nee Trewynnard) were not only wealthy, they were the first inhabitants of Pendennis Castle,and they were pirates.

Their son, John, and his wife, Mary, were also pirates, and writers quite often get the two couples confused.
The pyramid in Falmouth was built by the last direct descendant of this side of the Killigrew family.

My 'Hornicotes' ancestors used to own Tintagel.


If you're 'into' Bonsai, my brother is, it seems is quite famous. It appears he is 'one of the U.K.'s most established and well respected bonsai potters'.
He sells his pots at shows, and, quite often, he's sold out before the show opens - other stall holders buy them!! :-0

All are on my OH's side. Welsh, English and French Royalty, several Archbishops and a well known F1 Racing driver.

I have Jack Crayston the footballer and manager, a 'cousin' of grannies.

And Mum's cousin was married to Patrick Willis, the RN chief Petty Officer who was in the HM submarine Poseiden when it had a collision. He received a George Cross for his heroism.

OH has Eric Kemp Langton, speedway rider, a 'cousin' of his mother.

My "famous" rellies are famous for all the wrong reasons!
