Thanks Joy <3
It has been a worrying time and quite out of the blue. His wife and I have been friends since school, did a lot of our courting with them and another couple (also from school), all six of us got married the same year and had our first kids within a year and have been friends ever since.
He is a very fit and active 79 year old so hopefully his recovery will go well.

Hi Kath. :-D <3
Hope you and your family are well. <3
A worrying time for your friend and family. I am pleased that he has had surgery and all seems well. <3

Afternoon everyone :-) <3
It's a getting better day here today. Started wet and dark but it is lightening up a bit now and drying up.
Friend is now out of ICU and in HDU and he's sitting in a chair and feeling as o.k. as to be expected this soon after a major operation. His wife can visit tonight (first time since op.) so all good so far :-)
Hope you don't have to wait too long Von <3
Stay inside and keep warm and hydrated Belle <3
Have a good afternoon all.

Afternoon everyone.
Waves to Maddie - if I could find the key - so here's a high 5! :-D <3
Thank you Belle. Hope you are soon OK. <3
Fly, all good with you, I hope. <3
Gwyn, I have only every had one annual review. When I was 62 and my pals (one worked at a hospital, another was a Practice Manager) were chatting about theirs over lunch and they realised I had not been called they told me I should go to the docs and ask about one.
I fronted up and saw the Practice Sister who, because my maternal gran had broken her hip twice, told me I ought to be on HRT - AT 62! I disagreed and told her my diet was vastly different from my Gran's in years gone by as I had a yoghurt almost every day and I loved thick butter on sandwiches - so plenty of Vitamin D. To placate her I went in to see my doc who asked me how I felt. 'Fine', says I. 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it', says he.
I have never been called for another review so I think I have slipped through the cracks. Last year when I realised I had bronchitis in the autumn (had it years before, one May so I knew what it was) the doc asked me what tablets I was on. 'None', I replied. 'No, what tablets do you already take?' she asked. 'None', I replied again.
She seemed a bit exasperated and, I guessed she thought I was an idiot or a liar, because she looked through my medical records only to discover I was not on any. Her face was a picture when she said, 'You're right!' (Well, I knew I bleddy was!) I know I am lucky but, because I am over 80 now, I take more care driving etc.and my son has forbidden me from climbing ladders. Also, I am still doing a dance class once or twice a week which is good for weight-bearing on bones.
My only blip is I have always had low blood pressure and when pregnant I was prone to keeling over now and then. Easily fixed said the doc - salt tablets, but as they are awful to take, I now add salt to my food which I had never done before. Also, I put a tad on a spoon before I go to bed if I have not had any during the day. It helps.
Von, hope I gets sorted soon and both of you soon get some peace of mind. It must be an awful, worrying time for you. <3 <3

Afternoon Von :-) <3
Oh, still waiting then :-( <3
As long as OH is being well cared for, it will be fine, but it would be so good to get the next step of his treatment underway. Like you say, the staff are so busy and they must be frustrated for you, while trying to chase up his future care.
No blood pressure taken today :-S She seemed pleased that she actually had a pen and paper record to copy later, as I took in a list of BP readings since last Sunday and she accepted those as OK, so I guess it was easier for her than making a set of new notes :-)
Blood test results will be about a week, she said, but I know in reality it takes a lot longer sometimes for the doctors to view and comment on the results, so I might not bother until after Christmas.

Good afternoon :-D <3
Oh no Gwyn hope everything was recorded properly. <3
We are still waiting. There was a bed available yesterday and OH was packed & ready
to go but about an hour later they said they needed the bed. Another patient who had
gone before told me that when he got there his treatment was delayed by 5 hrs.
They are so busy and the poor staff are working so hard. <3

Afternoon everyone :-) <3
I hope today is the day for good news for Von and OH <3
~~~~~ to ' Rudolph ' I hope you soon feel a lot better <3
Went for an annual review at the doctor's today. Their system was down, so they had to resort to old fashioned pen and paper to write down, who had arrived and also enquire what time was their appointment and who with. Of course they could not therefore book any future appointments, so it was fun and games all round. No computer screen when I went in to see the nurse, so I hope my blood test results get recorded on my docs. OK
