Trevor Jones Edge Family Chester I am trying to trace the link between my grand mother Lucy Jones (who I know little about) and the Edge Family of Chester. My Grand Mother was born in Liverpool in 1894, but on the 1901 census she was shown as having been adopted by the Edge family of 9 Castle Street, Chester. The family were, Eliza Edge 60, William 24, Arthur 22, James 18 and John 16. In 1881 Eliza and the older children were living at 15 Frodsham Street. Eliza's birth place is given as Pershore, Worcester and there is a 10 year old daughter Amelia listed (born in Malvern). Amelia was in Liverpool in the 1890's and could be Lucy's mother - but this is only a guess. My father (Michael - known as David) was born to Lucy Jones (who gave her next of kin as 'her brother' Jack Edge of Glouster St.) in 1928 at Chester Work House. He left 'adopted' in july 1928. His mother left about a year after him (March 1929) but I do not know what happened to her. Any infornation about the Edge family and in particular my grand mother's connection - and what happened to her - would be much appreciated. Trevor
