Went to one to day with some plot numbers and got a bit lost. My sister and I were stood there looking confused and this white feather landed by my sister, she took this as a sign. Anyway a groundsman came over and offered his help, he had a look and went up to an unmarked grave and said that was the one, right were the feather had landed! I then asked about another grave and he said come into the office and you can have a look through the records book, for free! So glad I wore this low cut top today! I found the dates, times, address's and cost of some family funerals going back to my grandad in 1949. He then took us with a map to a biggish plot of unmarked graves and found the exact spot were my poor old grandad is. He then went of and got a nice piece of stone and dug a hole and set the stone in it. He said next time we go bring some paint and put the plot number on it so we will always be able to find him. Arghhh he was a real gent, gave him a few £ for his trouble almost had to force him to take it. |

I spoke to our local cemetry office to ask about a possible grave, they told me they did not have anything listed for thart graveyard, I was really disappointed as I thought that where rellie was buried, they rang me back 20 mins later to tell me they had found my grave (well not mine) in another town 10 miles away and gave me the details that I have been hunting for. Fab people Jan |

Hazel A little story for you When I started this I asked uncle in law for his mothers full name, he asked his wife and between them I was told it was either Kathryn or Kathleen................She was baptised Katie, married as Katie and Buried as Katie So when it came to asking him about his 12 brothers and sisters I didnt hold out much hope He promptly reeled off Names, Birthdays, Death dates all in the correct order.............i couldnt believe he didnt know his mothers name but could remeber when people where born, baptised and died Jan |

That was lovely Country girl, and perhaps after all it was your charm, and not your considerable assets which made him help you so much..... I asked for two feathers on Fathers Day, to show that Dad and FiL were around......and there they were......have not seen any before or since... Makes you think, doesn't it..... |
