As Faith has deleted her thread I just want to ask if I don't type in English? Why is it when I am agreeing with someone that they put their own slant on things and try and make me out to be the bad guy?

Pink, I just added to Faith's thread ,did you see it before it was deleted? The jist of it was that both you and Joy want Faith to stay...... I think the phrase that may have troubled people was 'But joy when has Faith needed approval?' . It reads rather as if you thought people were patronising Faith by giving their APPROVAL rather than just offering an opinion (which Faith had asked for) and that it was not appropriate as Faith would decide for herself, .I know that it was not your intention to offend , english is a tricky language ,it is so much down to individual interpretation of the words, sometimes the meaning behind them gets lost! Rose you have made me giggle!! Thank you as I thought I was going nuttier than normal!! All I was doing was responding to Joy's comment that I may have read incorrectly, but I felt she was implying that Faith NEEDED people's approval and yet anyone who has ever read Faith's threads or replies will know that is not Faith at all!! But hey if anyone wants to twist my words they are doing it with their own minds not mine!! xx

Hi Pink, It brings to mind when I was at college(as a mature student) we were reading 'Hamlet' so lots of different opinions on what Shakespeare was 'saying'. One of the students asked ,if so many interpretations could be made, how could anyone ever be sure that is what shakespeare meant.......The tutor replied that there was an 'absolute truth' but only Shakespeare as the writer could know for sure what it was! The only thing we could be sure of was that it was a tragedy rather than a comedy.....but even that could change in future generations............. Rosexx

Rose - I understand what you are saying but i don't write like Shakespeare (i wish i did as would be worth millions) and i think that some people prefer to read threads/replies differently to what is actually meant sometimes!! xx
