I was talking to a friend who has a camera shop and he told me that the way cameras are made nowadays it is usually cheaper to buy new, as some are not able to be repaired - parts are like sealed units now, bit like some car parts I think.

But if you buy a new camera through Kodak then they buy your old camera, just been quoted £30.00 off the next camera I like so we cant claim on insurance .....if we claim we put payments up next year!!!! Swings and round-a-bouts Thanks everyone for your help, its difficult to know what to do for the best....and I shouldnt get attached to my things

Can't you get a new one that is similar to the old one? is it digital? Some of the newer ones have a lot more facilities on than the older models. Ann Glos
