On Sunday my son and I are attending the baptism at the Catholic Cathedral in Brentwood, of his cousin's daughter. She is 7 years old and into dancing, ballet, jazz and tap. Can anyone suggest a reasonably priced gift that she could keep as a memento of the day - I am sure her immediate family will do gold jewellery or a rosary and Bible etc, so am a bit flummoxed. Going into the city this pm so will see if there are any good ideas before I go. I did wonder about one of those small crystal ornaments that have a light stand underneath them , maybe of a ballerina? Also thought I would take a look in Past Times? We don't know her really, I only saw her once as a baby and son has never seen her, so difficult to know what else would suit. I asked my son's cousin, but she said not to worry, just bring a card and ourselves, which I thought was sweet. Won't go emptyhanded tho. Liz

Thanks folks, just been looking on Past Times on line but can't see anything suitable, altho shop will have more I think, and remembered another shop close to PT that might have something. Gwen, thanks I liked that picture but it wouldn't arrive in time for the weekend. If we get to know her better and see her room when we stay over, to know if it would look nice in there, I could get something similar for her birthday.

How about a photo frame which she could use for her pictures of her dancing? Frame could be traditional, funky or just pretty. Gwyn

Thanks I had thought of a jewellery box or photo frame but trouble is I don't know her taste at all, maybe I should wait till I see her room at the weekend and then get something. Our lovely Gwen has made a kind offer too, thanks love. Thanks to all, will be out in a mo to get the card and have a look round but will also be out to shop on Friday pm so plenty of time. Liz x

My granddaughter has a jewellery box which opens to show a little ballet dancer, and it plays a tune. Would something like that be suitable? Try H Samuel............ Reg

On Ebay there is someone selling personalised photograph albums for Christenings, weddings etc, where you can have your choice of text printed on the front cover. If there will be photographs taken on the day, this might make a nice keepsake.
