I will have a look at that site too, as I have several of my old dolls which have limbs falling off cos their rubber bands have perished. We used to have a Dolls' Hospital in Norwich many years ago but been gone a long time. My mum threw out a lot of my dolls without me knowing but I still have two or three of my favourites. Liz

Your dolls’ hospital question has brought back some memories for me…. When I was very small, an aunt gave me her doll from the early 1900s. It is (was) one of the beautiful ones which appear on Antiques Roadshow. Procelain head, with numbers on the neck, jointed limbs with realistic fingers and toes, closing eyes, tiny teeth and natural long hair. It was my pride and joy. When I was in my teens, Dad decided to send it off, as a surprise, to a dolls’ hospital to have the elastics renewed. Disaster happened and the lovely head was smashed in transit. I still have the doll, but it came back with a plastic head and awful short curly hair. After more than 50 years I have the doll wrapped in tissue and stored away, but we never did tell Auntie about the fate of Jemima! Please be sure to wrap carefully before posting, and send any pecious toys registered post!! Elisabeth (& Jemima)
