my grans half brother always said he didnt know his father name and when his mum died when he was 3 he went with his 3 half sisters into care and after a while they were split up. Can remember visiting uncle Maurice (not even his name lol) and Auntie Alice with his garden he loved running up the back of the house quite a way. Well mum has just got his birth cert and his father is on there now I want to know all about him and know if mums got any more half uncles/aunts etc. and why if he took the trouble to be their for the resgistration even though he didnt have his surname why didnt he bother when my gt gran died looking after him. sighhhhhhhhhhhhh think I am going to be in for some heartache on this one.

David mums mum died before mum got married and one of her sisters disappeared so I only knew the other full sister and her half brother and always liked visiting them so would be nice to know more but think it will be a sad tale like them all going into a home when we have now found relatives in the same town that surely could of taken them in.

Dawn Relatives may not have taken them in because they themselves were overcrowded, or were strained to the limit financially. Also - relatives always have a spouse, who might not be quite so keen to take on someone else's children. Sad but true. OC

OC is so sad though but at least they all kept in touch apart from the sister who disappeared which meant I at least grew up knowing two of them even if I never knew my gran.
