PMSL!!! We had the opposite problem. Got a rescue cat and her kitten. (rescued from Ireland) We were assured Tilly had been spayed, as, while in Ireland she had a stuck kitten cut out (unfortunately dead) and had stitches from one side of her tummy to the other!! Brought her and kitty home. Tilly put on weight - quite normal for rescue cats to do this as us soppy owners tend to feed tham when asked!! Tom cats started sniffing about, kitty was 6 months old so in she went! Still tom cats about. Thought maybe a bit of egg tissue had been left behind. We would take her to the vet's in a month or two......... Tilly had 4 healthy kittens on my sofa. Moral of this tale - don't trust Irish vets with small animals!!! maggie |

Funny that - I 'sexed' the kittens and concluded there were 2 boys & 2 girls. Vet thought different - insisted there were 3 girls 1 boy. I thought it odd that the biggest was a girl!! When we took them for their neutering/spaying I asked whether George - by now, at 6 months, the size of an adult cat - was still female - cos if he was, I'd rename him/her Arnold! George is definitely a boy - huge, but a big whimp - and cost half the price of his sisters to neuter!! maggie |
