Lisa, about 22 years ago, when I was a new but older mum, I met up with several of my old schoolmates (not especially friends) out and about in the city, before I had always been rushing to work etc and didn't see anyone. We all finished school around 1963-65 and this would be 1984. I got a crowd together in a local pub after collecting their phone numbers and they would call someone they were still in touch with and we had a great evening, even a couple of teachers turned up. Since then I and some others have arranged many get togethers, the best one had over 150 from various 'years' and several teachers and we will be having another soon. We did at one time send out newsletters, we asked people for contributions, and this was all before computers were the way to contact folk. I found the best way was to advertise in the local newspaper, as even if the people from school had moved away, often their parents would read the article and let them know about the reunions. Don't give up, they are great fun and we have even had one marriage come out of them, a couple met up after being boy/girlfriend at school, his wife had died, and she was still single, and they are now very happy together. I would say we have held at least 6 or 7 reunions in the past 22 years. Liz

I think that people just get cold feet at the last moment Heather....maybe they're just shy of coming forward as they are now......they might get back in touch, you never know....
