June, I was such a skinny Lizzie, like Olive Oyl and big specs, wispy hair and my horrible school hat plonked on top. Then when I left school I got called Marjorie Proops cos of the specs! Spent my life sorting out others' probs so quite apt really I guess. One fella used to call me Kitten, even in public, and another Flossie, as if I was a flippin' rabbit! This one calls me Lilibet, my brother called me Bebe and I called myself Bizzy cos my full name was such a mouthful! Well, it still is which is why I have been Liz for many years now. Still cringe when I hear my full name called, only used to hear it from parents if I had done something they didn't approve of, which was quite often unfortunately. lol

When my teenage son was a baby and I was changing his nappy, his 2 year old brother was 'helping'. He suddenly started calling the baby loogy-locks. When I asked him why the unusual name he explained 'cos he looks like cows udders!' Unfortunately he now has the nick-name of Loogy. Bless him!

At the tender age of 7, I was a bridesmaid, THEY permed my hair, when I went back to school I got called Fizzy because of the curls sticking out. The name followed me all my school life and even now at 55 (nearly6) some of my friends and their parents still call me Fizz. Janet

My nickname at school was Lager Lout.....because my name is Stella, (not that I was a drunk at that age!!!!) They would associate that with the lager 'Stella Artois' I think my old class friends would find it histerical that I married to a surname of 'Bottle' !!!! It had to be, didn't it?!!! My best friend was nicknamed 'Flash' because she, (bless her) when it was P.E she had a hole in her shorts and all the boys saw it!!!! Stella X

There used to be a well known character in Norwich called Marigold, he was a coloured chap who would try to direct traffic wearing Marigold gloves! My nickname at school was Passionflower, I was a weedy little thing with specs and no confidence! lol
