Jennifer, When I came out of hospital a couple of years ago now, I couldn't sleep very well. Laying in bed tossing and turning is the worst thing. So, I used to go downstairs, make a cuppa and read my book until my eyes were closing of their own free will! At least when you do go back up to bed you will get some quality sleep. In this cold weather, stick the fire on and wrap your hands around a hot drink - sitting in a warm room also helps you drift off. Hope this helps, Lyn x

It is odd that sitting in a warm room can make you nod off ( I should know, I do it every evening these days) but I was reading that your body actually needs to cool down before you can sleep. I find if I lay there and try to plan something, or say, spend loads of money i.e. the lotto millions, or redesign a room in my head (that should be a good one for you Jennifer, saw your thread about design!) I go to sleep before I have finished my planning. Hope you manage to get some sleep Jennifer, and anyone else having a problem. Liz
