I wonder how many of you do as I do? |

I have a habit of building Trees which I have no proof belong to my family purely because my instinct tells me that a couple or three generations earlier they will link in. For example, today I researched the name of Brian Cockbone of Aysgarth, Wensleydale, purely because I had a 6th ggfather Thomas Cockbone who had a son called Brian who died as an infant so I am sure Brian was a Family Name, even though it did not survive in my Branch. So far I have built a Tree of 26 persons spanning 4 generations, purely from Censuses and Free BMD, and going back to about 1794. No link yet but I do have my section of this family back to 1682 so I still expect to find the link. |

Yep I have done that Jim but for a different resaon. I don't know who my 5x great Grandfather was, although I am 99% sure my 'suspect' is the one. I have searched everything at the CRO but have found no documentation to prove he is the right one. So I am now working round the houses using my suspect and researching all of his other children and antescendants to see if I can find a link to my 4x great Grandfather. Jeanette x |
