Just to confuse the world .......as is my familys want..... My Grandmother was called Peggy her name ....sorry not Margaret but Edith Ann Please don't ask me why. !!!! Jac

It is rumoured that all women called Margaret have a peg leg - hence Peggy. I'm saying nothing - but there does happen to be a telegraph pole missing in our street and I have the devil's own game to find shoes. LOL Mags xx

Yes Peg Peggy is short for Margaret was a teenager before I realised my Aunty Peg was Margaret. Don't know how they get to it though Germaine x

My mum is called Peggy, as was my grandmother. It is a variation of Margaret.

hi, this may sound a daft question but is peggy short for anything? got a relative of 1908 called peggy but having trouble with her. amy
