Hello Dear Sir/Ma, How are you doing today?hope good.I hope this mail meets you in good health. I am Phillip Moore, the director of Green-Village Orphanage home.We are situated in the Western part of Africa. In regards to recent donations we are having from the United Kingdom and neighbouring countries. We would be needing an associates who can represent us there and you can still keep your regular job while you work for us.It is a very simple job which involves a lot of trust and sincerity. It involves little or no stress.Donations would be coming in from the United Kingdom soonest. It would come in the method of a sterling cheque.Sterling cheque does not clear down here in Africa. So this is the nature of the Job.On every transaction you will earn 10% of the money you recieve on our behalf. However,i want to inform you once again that the nature of the job deals with trust. The cheque will be issued in your name and sent down to your address as demanded by us to our donator. Then after recieving the cheque, you will clear it and remove the 10% commission being payment for your services. The remaining money would be sent down to us via Western Union Money Transfer. The transfer commission would be deducted from the rest money. If you are interested in this Offer.Kindly send down your personal contact address to my mailbox and also your contact phone number Thanks and God bless. Warmest Regards, Phillip Moore NB:REPLY BACK TO MY PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS |

Sylvie Tell them you would love to help but as you dont have a bank account you will receive all UK donations in cash. You will then fly to Africa with the cash in your pocket - it is all about trust and honesty, after all. OC |

Thanks Old Crone thats a good idea.. thought it was too good to be true seems like money laundering to me -didnt know whether to report it or not. Just came thru my email and wondered where they could have got my address from. Sylvie |

A well known scam that has been around for years. How did they get your contact details? Why have they 'selected' you? Do you give all your personal information to complete strangers on the bus? So why give them to someone you have never even met? Think about it logically! Plus I would feel rather guilty taking 10 per cent of money given in good faith for such a 'deserving' cause! |

It's not money laundering - you would never see a penny. It is a way to gain people's personal details - might as well just give them your bank card. |

Sylvie No no no, fgs, don't respond to their email, they will never leave you alone again! As Errol says it is a complete and utter scam, only the details vary - sometimes its a Russian woman, sometimes its an African Prince, but they are all designed to get your bank details out of you, nothing more. Report it to your Trading Standards Office, although there is very little they can do, as these emails are generated outside the UK. Be careful too, about posting your email address on line anywhere, as it just invites these scams. OC |

I like doing this when I have my naughty head on: When I get spammy stuff, if I can do it safely then I harvest the sender's email address and add it to as many sites as I can find that I know send out their own spam and sell email addresses on. Although spammers regularly regenerate random email addresses for themselves, it still causes a headache. (Be very careful if you do this and only do it if you know exactly what you are doing regarding safely harvesting from spam!!!) |
