Wife Swap star Lizzy Bardsley has been found guilty of four child cruelty charges. The 33-year-old, from Rochdale, was found guilty of three charges of wilful assault of a child under 16 and one of wilful ill-treatment. All the offences relate to one child, who cannot be named for legal reasons. At Bolton Crown Court, was granted bail until a sentencing hearing on 22 February. Judge David Hernandez ordered the Probation Service to carry out a pre-sentence report in conjunction with social services. He added that all sentencing options would remain open. Bardsley, a mother of eight, shot to fame after appearing on the Channel 4 reality TV series Wife Swap.

Couldn't find reference to current case but her past court cases include those below. Lizzie Bardsley sentence increased (04/08/2006) Lizzie Bardsley has lost her appeal against her conviction for benefit fraud, and had her sentence increased. Bolton Crown Court found there had been deception when she was paid for interviews while receiving benefits, and increased her sentence from 80 to 120 hours' community service. Lizzy Bardsley Charged with Child Cruelty (03/04/2006) Lizzy Bardsley has been charged with ten counts of children cruelty today, Monday 3 April 2006. The charges follow on from her arrest early last month. Lizzy Bardsley Arrested After Cruelty Accusations (07/03/2006) Rochdale television 'celebrity' Lizzy Bardsley has been arrested on suspicion of child cruelty following an appointment at Rochdale Police station. She was taken into police custody on Thursday 2 March and later released on bail. Lizzie Bardsley guilty of benefit fraud (27/09/2005) Lizzie Bardsley has been sentenced to 80 hours community service after being found guilty of benefit fraud.Bardsley, 32, who appeared on Channel Four's Wife Swap, had denied receiving almost £3,800 from media work while claiming £37,500 a year in benefits. Unfortunately she gets a lot of coverage in the local papers (for her court appearances) If I remember rightly with current one her mother and sister both gave evidence - against her. T.O.R. ;o))
