Just been to tip was a car and mobile home in front of me so where I parked was by the last skip.Car pulled up behind me and older man (70ish) parked behind me and starting unloading his stuff walking up to skip. I then got back in my car and because I cant twist round very well didnt move off as the mobile home was about to go as well. The man came up to my window and said why arent you moving away, told him I was waiting for one in front to go he said reverse back and move out. Told him very politley that I couldnt move very well so would wait for van to move. He wasnt impressed

Dawn, I work with the elderly. Most of them are lovely, but the odd one or two think that it is their divine right to be as rude to as many people as they can!!

Val didnt mean to tar all older people with the same brush most are lovely, When I was in the little post office near us on Saturday I let an old man go out the door before me as I had tiddler in her buggy he held the door open for me and when I said I wa letting you go first as we are quite slow he said no I will hold the door for you as I have all the time in the world. Was so nice. d xx

I'm 66 and agree that a lot of older people are very rude, pig ignorant in a lot of cases. If there's someone behind me when I enter into a shop or wotever I'll always hold the door back for them and very often in the case of oldies there's never a 'thank you'. But like someone else has said the young can be just as bad on occasion. We were taught good manners at my secondary school which was a good thing. I was also taught in the army when sitting down and a lady came to sit also that one stood up until she was seated. I still practice that. Ron
