Purple, I hope you didn't choke on your chocolate. lol Your descendants researching their family tree would find your death certificate very odd! Hope you're live and kicking. Take care x Lesley

35 Dinars...plus Taxes? What's that in pounds? Or is it best to wait until Ancestry transcribes it? lol

Yes, can someone track down the certs and get them for me, I have hit a brick wall and can't do anything till someone tells me what is on the certs. (What do you mean, say please? Why should I?) OC

Ithink it would be about about 35 Dinars...plus Taxes, after all, there was a shortfall on the day afterwards due to the infanticed after. Would there be certs for those?

Does anyone know - are look-ups £45 per address for this census, too? Because I am REALLY desperate for the information, REALLY desperate - but I want it to be free RIGHT NOW. OC

From a website I found when googling...... Caesar Augustus then decreed that a census be taken, for which everyone had to return to their town of origin. Joseph was a descendant of David, whose hometown was Bethlehem, so he and Mary went to Bethlehem to register . (Possibly, Joseph could have grown up in Bethlehem or have had relatives there as well.) While they were in Bethlehem, Jesus was born, presumably in a barn or animal shelter.
