My daughters, aged 15 and 14 have just come home from shopping. They have bought themselves a dress each...which, to me, look like something Noddy and Big Ears' girlfriend's would have worn (if he had a girlfriend) Absolutely horrendous! I smiled and politely said 'if you are comfortable and like it, that's all that matters'. Well! I've seen it all now. Tina x

No, from your teens point of view you gave exactly the right reply.....made it clear you didn't really like it, which means they picked the right dress! LOL

Oh dear...since your replies (thankyou), it has got worse....I have had a complete fashion show. Grimacing inwardly. I have tried to be, how can I put it, errr enthusiastic? The final straw was the leggings...to go with the extremely short skirt and trainers!! Tina x

Didn't we all go through this tho, wearing things that now make us cringe with embarrassment? I can think of a few outfits that I wish now I had never looked at, never mind worn. Get some photos of them, wearing the new clothes, think what fun you will have showing their children in years to come how their mums dressed (when they are being as 'oldfashioned' as you feel you are being now Tina!)

Tina, you have standards and your girls are experimenting with fashion - ask the older generation about the things you wanted to wear at 14/15 and see what they thought Well you should have seen what my flat mate went out in last night! what she called a dress I call a blouse/top! She had a nice green 'dress' which would have been nicer with 6' added to the bottem and black legging at half mast!
