Then when you come back and want to finish it, go to your draft folder, highlight the email, right click and Send To: INBOX. Dee x At least that's what you do in OE!

put an email in the draft box. I was in the middle of an email and wanted to go and watch something on tv but didn't know how to put the unfinished email in the draft box so that I could finish it later. Can anyone tell me to do this? Thanks

Margaret... I hope you don't mind me using your thread but I've got a problem with Outlook Express and wondered if someone could help. Tried to send an e.mail with attachments 3 days ago. For some unknow reason it has landed up in my Outbox and has clogged the system. I can't send or receive mail. If I try to send it elsewhere I just get a message saying Outbox - Outlook Express is not responding. Has anyone got any idea how I can delete it out of the system. Jean x.

Hello Jean me darlin......try this (from the Microsoft help site) ------------------------------------------------------------- Message Opened from Your Outbox After you send an e-mail message, Outlook moves the e-mail message to your Outbox. When Outlook connects to your mail server, the e-mail message is delivered and a copy of the sent e-mail message appears in your Outbox. If you open and close an e-mail message while it is in your Outbox, the e-mail message may not be sent because you may have changed its status. If the status of the e-mail message has been changed, the title of the e-mail message no longer appears in bold. To send the e-mail message, open the message, and then click Send. The message title changes back to the bold format in the Outbox Messages view. The next time that you make a connection to the mail server, the e-mail message is delivered. Dee x

Thanks for your replies ladies, Dee tried doing as you have said but just froze again. Kay... I am computer illiterate so be gentle with me. What happens is when I go to Outlook Express I get the little icon telling me it is sending mail but it doesn't and then my whole computer freezes. I have gone to Outbox, managed to get the message on the screen but then the computer just freezes again. Gawd this is driving me bonkers. Apart from throwing the computer out of the window is there any thing else I can try. Jean x.

Jean Have you tried opening the message that is stuck in the outbox and deleting the attachments, and then clicking send? OK so the recipient will get your message without the attachments, but it might just unblock your outbox! Dee x

Or you could try this (I assume you are using Windows XP and are the only user) Close Outlook Express Go to Start Search All Files/Folders Type (in the top box) outbox.dbx Let the computer do the search It will list your outbox.dbx right click it and choose delete (it should go into your recycle bin together with the contents) Restart your Outlook Express - it should create a new empty outbox.dbx (all your outlook express files have .dbx on the end...i.e. inbox.dbx, sent.dbx. and so on). So when you restart check that you still have an Outbox on your Outlook Express. If it doesn't, restore it from you recycle bin and nothing is lost (although you will be back at square one)! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also Jean, I don't know what the capacity of your Outlook Express Email is, but you might like to delete some of your old SENT email,if you have a lot of stuff in there, before you try the above. Dee x
