when I picked her up yesterday the first thing she said was dont tell me off will you, so asked what she had done and she said I have poo in my pants. Dont worry I said we will clean you up when we get home. All the way she kept going on about it. She was caked had to throw pants away it was that bad. Poor thing will wee on a toilet but uses a potty for everything else which they dont have at nursery. Because she doesnt talk to the teachers she wouldnt tell them so stayed like that all afternoon even when she was asked if she needed to go she just shook her head and looked away. Last night she kept crying as she didnt want to go in case she did it again. Went in with spare clothes and told her teacher and she has been told that if she wants to go tell her and she will go with her if she is scared of the toilet. poor little thing

HI poor mite. Could you take a potty to pre-school with her so she could use it she may feel more comfortable. Leave it near she coat in a bag where she can reach it. Kate

Kate will see how she goes up to now its one of the fiorst things she does when she gets home could set your watch by her. If only she would talk to the teachers it would be ok I am even having to tape her do some stuff at home as she wont talk there.

Dawn, If she is used to using the potty at home, take it in with her in a bag with her name on. Show her where you have put it and all she will need to say is potty. I have several children who bring theirs in and also toilet seats. If she doesn't want to say the word, then can she leave it somewhere where she can pick it up herself to show staff it is needed. I always suggest to parents that consistency is needed with toilet practice so whatever is done at home should as far as possible be done at Pre-school otherwise the child can become too conscious of 'toilet time' and it can become a problem. Also once out of nappies or pull ups, I suggest bringing in a pile of pants/knickers rather than keeping them in pullups for Pre-school when undies are used at home. I hope you sort it and your daughter soon becomes confident and less conscious. Good luck Jacky :-) PS Have just seen it is Nursery and not Pre-school but the same should still apply. :-)

Jacky this is the first time she has done it and has been full time since October even at her other nursery she may of wet herself when she was coming out of nappies but that was it. She will be fine, I'm sure was just a one off, if it happens again will take potty in
