Yes, I too live in the Netherlands and have avoided going out today because of the severe storms. Where does your son live? We have no trains at all running in the Netherlands. In all the years I have lived here I have never known this situation. Now tonight we have flood warnings, dykes being barricaded etc.etc. A little bit frightening as I lived on land which was reclaimed from the sea only 30 years ago. So many old trees have fallen on cars etc.and lorries been blown off the road. It was only last Thursday that we had a storm. Now keep our fingers crossed. My poor daughter has had her attic window blown out and the rain is pouring in. She has lost a lot of roof tiles too. This is the part of the attic where they have made an extra bedroom. Needless to say nobody will be sleeping there tonight. Sylvia xxx |

Hope all your friends and relatives are safe and have no more damage to their homes etc. I didn't go out today so hope my own house across the city is ok, no tiles off or tv aerials swinging around - hope one of the neighbours would phone me if there is a problem but they might all be inside too. Will be near there tomorrow so will go and look after I have attended my friend's funeral. |
