Annie, I had the same problem a few weeks ago. These people are called 'name stealers'. She had even copied all my living relatives, down to the last detail. She was a newbie and I'd been researching for about 4 years! I emailed GR Admin and they asked her to remove all living relatives from her tree. The annoying thing is I still get her name (she uses 2) come up on Hot Matches. Report it to GR - I did. Sylvx

HI TOR I didnt understand the reason to have an automated response which is a firm NO isnt it.....especially when Ive gone through doing some detective work and he is listing the same names as me? Anyway Ive emailed again telling him that ...shall we take bets I dont get a reply! Can you tell by the membership number how long they have been on Genes?

I wish I knew. I had one like that. All the names date and even the area matched up but they said no it wasnt the same. I might just send an other email to them,as it was a while ago. Marion

Agree it's annoying Annie. But, someone on here had 3 names that matched mine. We corresponded and finally opened tree to each other. Parents names and dates nearly exact match. I had 7 children, he had 5 of them again dates nearly exact match. Okay you're asking what's the catch. Mine were all in Surrey his were New South Wales. We still think we have a connection just need to go further back. lol Is it possible that that is what has happened with you? T.O.R.

Has anybody any idea why people send automatic replies 'Not my relation'. Then when you search through to find the names they have listed from their tree....there are all the names that you have as well!!!!! Am I missing the point!
