Might be worth listing some of the things that you'd like to clarify and then you won't get in a muddle and forget things!! Good luck xx

I think this old lady will be really pleased that someone is interested in her memories.....you will be doing a good turn for her as well......so many old people feel useless, and sidelined, whereas if people would only listen to their memories, they would learn a lot about social history..... I feel excited for you.....have a good time...

Thanks Sally good idea, I am also going to bring my laptop, so I can see who they are talking about, with so many people it gets confusing. I am so nervous, it feels like im meeting the queen lol Must make sure I dress tidy, not in my normal jeans and boots. Jackiexx

If you can get hold of a tape recorder Jackie it would be a good idea to get the spoken record of these events too.....adds a lot of interest... A man down the road from me wrote a book about WW1 years ago, and went all over the country, finding the old warriors and getting their memories down with his tape recorder......found it so useful to play back..... How good is that....to find someone who has your history.....

My OH's uncle contacted me last night, he had heard I was researching my OH family history and was telling a friend of his who is also related to them down the line and has been tracing the family for the last 30+ years. He has arranged for me to meet this man and his mother who is in her 90's to interview them, she can remember alot of the family and has loads of information about them also stories told to her about those before she was born. They have all sorts of documents and photo's they are willing to let me have copies of them. She can also remember some of my family who lived in the same area. I am so excited but at the same time nervous. Where do I start? Jackiexx
