Well this has perhaps made us all sit back and realise that we might be neglecting ourselves so I am now going to add a thread on how to 'Be Good to yourself' Perhaps we should then print them both off and put them somewhere we can see them Dee ;-)) |

Maybe we should all print this out and pin it up somewhere, to remind us, cos I definitely tick several of those boxes!! |

Hi Dee I think we are all guilty of some of the things in the list. lol Just need to be more Positive and Honest with one's self. Think about what you want to do but in a positive way, And give it your best shot. At the end of the day at least you can say well i tried, But if you do things in a positive way 9 times out of 10 you will succeed. When the going gets tough talk to a friend as a problem shared is a problem halfed. Thats about all i can say really but it works for me. Good luck |

Guilty of all the above....!!! Have been told by the living....& the dead, to slow down, put yourself first for a change, live life how YOU want, rest more often etc etc.....but its difficult with 4 kids n being on my own, missing my boyfriend who lives over 100 miles away, oh...& trying to accept the fact that I'm living with a ghost!!! But I still find a smile for those who haven't got one :))))xx |

I was chatting to a friend this morning and he made me stop and think. I then went away and was reading a magazine and found this You know that you’re not taking care of yourself if you: React strongly to the unexpected, and get irritable with your loved ones Suffer from disturbed sleep. Constantly feel tired Are often late, lose or mislay things, such as keys, and forget birthdays etc Crave substances such as caffeine or sugar Use displacement activity, TN, the Internet, to hide from people or problems rather than purely for enjoyment Talk too quickly, and complete other people’s sentences, but fail to finish your own Use statements like ‘I deserve it’ to justify retail therapy Feel guilty about relaxing, choosing to do what you ‘should’ do and not what you ‘want’ to do Find it hard to switch off, or focus for more than 10 minutes Act like your last priority is yourself I am guilty of several of these, and I guess you might be to. Makes you stop and think, or I hope it does. If you recognise your own behaviours amongst the above then maybe you aren’t looking after yourself and should start doing something about it today |
