More and more 'no replies' to contact attempts

When the site first started everyone was a new member and you were pretty much guaranteed to receive a reply when making contact to other members via the messages system Now it seems there are more and more members listed who simply don't use their account any more. The result is I get less replies to contact attempts which after all is one of the main reasons for being a member Maybe Genesreunited should add an extra field next to the members name to indicate when the member last accessed their account so you can tell whether they are 'active' or not. What do you think? |

Alan I made this suggestion to GR some time ago. They did not reply. Of course, they will not do this, as that would reveal the true number of active members, which is nothing like the '5 million' members' they quote in their blurb. OC |

It would be useful. Pity somebody didn't suggest it when we had the opportunity a week or so ago when they were asking for suggestions re the mesage boards. but then, maybe somebody did! On the other hand I sent 3 contact mesages this week after having my hot matches and have had two replies. one almost by return, and both were positives. I have heard from almost all those I have contacted, What annoys me is when someone contacts you and you reply with what they want to know (being pretty sure there is no connection), then they don't come back to you so you are left in limbo assuming you were right. It looks like this is a common problem. I will definately send Genes an email on the subject whether I get a reply is a different matter though. On the subject of people not responding when you give some information, I always try to leave an incentive for them to reply by not telling them everything at once and making it obvious that I know more. |
