Macafee help needed please

When I signed on this morning I could see sign in a box saying.......................................... Macafee Personal Firewall could not be loadad. You are not currently protected. If this problem persists you may need to reinstall.......................When the sign in page came on it said that the Firewall was detected.............Anyone else had this and am I protected or not???................................................................. I have had a few problems lately and probably need someone to come and gve the computer a good 'service and clean-out. Are P C world any good. I notice they have a desk in their shops with all prices up. Any advice appreciated.....Thanks.....Linda |

Morning Linda, Restart your computer, I've had similar probs. before with Norton. After restart check to see if Firewall is active. I will be back in a few minutes after I check something Derek PS PC World charge an 'Arm and a Leg'. BT, Curry's etc also offer this service. Check local papers, Yell(*) etc and compare prices. |

Linda good morning.. i dont know what to tell you, except.. find the mcafee icon next to clock, RIGHT click and you will get a box come up, in there, click on '' Customer support'. click on Continue..... that brings up another page, on there you will find a help box, to do with failed to load mcafee products on that page also is another box entitled mcafee technician. which will scan your system to find out whatsup Bob |

Had major problems with McAfee install recently and even after several visits to their on line help desk, got nowhere and the last chap admitted their technical team were still trying to sort out faults that had emerged on the new McA. We took ours back to pcworld and got Norton, which was by then half price I think and even installing that was a prob and some things had to be uninstalled, computer not been right since first adding new McA (previous version had been fine). O.H. taking computer to pcworld for free health check later today - think it is in with guarantee which runs out soon. Hope you get yours sorted. LIz |
