I have found a box belonging to my nan, that i just grabbed after she died as a keepsake.Chucked it into the cupboard and there it has stayed.Just got it out and inside is 5 hat pins belonging to my great nan but on the plaque on the box it reads 'Presented to A.B by the scholars of the class January 1st 1880'.My nans single name was Bull now i am going to start a search to see who it belonged to.My nan died 25 years ago and i have never bothered with this box. oooooooo thats so exciting. After my gt aunt died and dad and uncle went to the house she shared with my Gt gran when she was alive they found Gt Aunts boyfriend had smashed up most things so they couldnt have anything. Was sooooooo uopset as had nothing of my Gt Grans and my sister had already been given a cup years ago and has a painting of gt gran that was in the house. Dad and Uncle went through everything and managed to find a couple of bits so I now have a little silver box and the lid under the glass is embroidered, not much to some but the world to me. Let us know how you get on d x |
