Budgie Thank you would it seem reasonable that a family living in the Walworth area would have got married there?

from google. Dunstan-in-the-East was an Anglican church located on St Dunstan's Hill, half way between London Bridge and the Tower of London ... bryan.

Dawnie... hope the following helps. Got your e.mail and hopefully will reply later in the week with good news. St Dunstan In The East (Great Tower Street), was rebuilt in 1817-1821, but gutted in 1941. It was united with Allhallows Barking by the Tower in 1960. Parish records are in the Guildhall Library: baptisms, 1558-1816; marriages, 1558-1939; banns 1754-89 and 1821-51; and burials, 1558-1853. The baptismal registers for the years 1816-1938 were damaged beyond repair in 1941. The IGI includes a partial index for 1558-1880 of baptisms and marriages only. Jean x.

Dawnie, Walworth is in south London, so it would seem quite unlikely to me - unless the bride came from the City of course. Maz. XX

Are you sure they were living in Walworth? (I don't mean to doubt you!) I should think that it would have come under Surrey at the time. If you can check the actual marriage register (or get 'someone else' to do it for you lol) then it should give you an 'abode' for them. Maz. XX

Maz have two wills one for each father of my 3 x gt grandparents between them they seem to have left a lot of property in Walworth to their children. and I know they were living in the area at time of baptisms as found for me by Jean. Am going on the names given in wills of their children and their spouses which is where I got the marriage from Pallots from. Total blind alley I am going along but hey keeps me off the streets lol

oh I see (I think lol) !! Well it could be that the parents lived in Walworth, and that was where they were born, but then they moved over to the City and got married there. Have you found them in 1851 to confirm a birth place? Sorry if I am getting it wrong though !! Maz. XX
