Airport Taxes going up

Heard on the radio a little while ago airport taxes going up from Feb Ist.If anyone has already paid there holiday by there card and travelling after this date the extra money will be taken from the credit card they paid with.Did not listen too well.I think the example was a family of 4 travelling from Dublin to Leeds would pay a extra £40. Annie

i bought my parents a trip to Prague next May, back in December as a christmas present, got a call yesterday that i needed to pay another £10, with a deadline of 24 hrs !!! unfortunately i couldn't get into the travel agents in the next 24 hours so had to send parents in to pay the extra on their present, lol. why is that when tax on cigs, alcohol, petrol goes up, it goes up that day, but this is allowed to happen abt 7 weeks later !????! some airlines have even said if the tax is not paid before arriving at airport - they will be kicked off the flight !!!

So im guessing i look out for more money to come off my card for my Vancouver trip.....hmmm.
