Another time we were testing a new radio........a micro link... we had us, and another set about a half a mile away and we were seeing how well we could transmit........and recieve... you wouldnt believe how often some officer would stand in line with the beam.........asking '' is it working lads?'' We once had the task of burning some unrequired paper.. got a 40 gallon oil drum and pierced it with vent holes....... spent ages filling it as it burned down , each time a youngish officer passed by he asked. Burning paper lads?,........got any holes in the bottom of the drum? . Yes sir we replied.........it seemed to be a standard question for young officers to ask....... Bob |
