VDU wipes! You can get them at PC World sweets! For your keyboard - just turn it upside down and tap it gently to remove all sorts of bits! xx |

I take it you don't mean with polish and a duster! LOL There's a thread by Judy in the States over on the tips board. Tells you exactly what to do in simple terms. I'll go and nudge it for you Jeanette x |

I get mine through my internet provider it costs £2.50 a month. For that you get updates when new viruses are found. Mine was in a right mess but it sorted it all out, it is alot quicker now and don't get so many pop ups. I know the one they use is norton but not sure if you get updates if you buy the software. There was something about cleaning your PC in the Easy PC magazine I got a couple of years ago. I'll copy it out, shouldn't take too long, then I'll be back. Josie |

Hi Jennifer I've got McAfee Virus Scan, but it is a 'bought' one not a free download. However, it's excellent and was recommended to me by a friend who owns a very successful IT business. It has picked up several trojans, including those contained within emails. In addition, I've got two free downloads which are also very good - Adaware (recommended by Judy) and Spybot (recommended by someone else on GR). Just google the names. Judy's thread on Tips is excellent, step-by-step advice on exactly what to do. Mandy :) |

I thought you meant clean as in sparkling clean, never mind. Still maybe it is still worth copying it out and putting it on the tips board. I agree Judys thread is great, helped me out when I hadn't a clue what to do. |

Mandy - you were lucky with McAfee, the new one K put on caused huge problems as my frantic threads in November showed, and we had to uninstall it, return it to the store and get a Norton, which is better but still not perfect, won't do some of the things it should. We had been on McA helpline three times and each time they were useless, the last time they told us their team were working on solving the problems we were experiencing because they had received so many calls about it. |
