Well, this thread had me drifting off into a dreamworld of yesteryear! I already have a memory chest, an old metal type travelling chest box crammed full or all sorts of personal memories... Photographs, that thankfully my ancestors thought fit to take masses of dating back to the late 1800's photos' of my grandad in WW! at the time engaged to my grandma, Letters home to her from France and belgium... The the same again in WW2 ( yes my poor grandad fought in both) His medals, and stuff from civilian life such as ration books etc Then, when he was injured, letters from him in hospital, and letters from my mum to grandad.. and cards she had made him. More up to date two poem books i wrote as an angst ridden teenager...lol memories of time spent living the life in London , tube tickets reminding me of romantic liasons..train ticket..concert ticket etc Autographs we bagged when scouring Covent garden one night.. Him off the Avengers ( cant remember his name at the mo), Angela Rippon, and that silly bloke off haircut 100 ( Nick someome) Later again, stuff from University Hosp Cardiff and Ely hosp where i did my training.. Then all my stuff relating to my children.. from scan piccies, their christening gown.. cards they have made me, school nativity photos, reports.. etc.. what a trip down memory lane i have just had! :))

It would have to be a large chest because everything would have to go........ School reports & pictures Poetry written by a confused 16yr old Photos of family & friends Baby bits, first shoes, daughters dresses (yes still got after 17yrs),teddies All the stuff I make, cards, scrapbooks etc Letters from family Postcards of my travels Christmas baubles Handbag crammed full of ladies stuff :)) Decorative candles, I love candles. I could go on forever, told you it would have to be a large one :))) Heather x

I have a big chest (yes really ! ) My memory chest is the leather suitcase my Dad travelled with when he was in the Holy Land, during WW2. When opened my Family will find photograph albums of all our Family's early years. School reports, keepsakes (ornaments children bought with their pocket money), and handwritten letters my children made for me,when they were very young. Mau xx

I am really lucky hayley, my grandparents and great grandparents were lucky enough to have a camera, in the early years of photography.. some of the photos are fantastic.. and yes, they kept allsorts thankfully kept by my mum and passed to me.. not only letters but postcards too.. Oh and lots of postcards for birthdays and christenings.. a common practice during the late victorian era.. they used to commission postcards with your street on and i have one dating from my great grandmother,, 1896 i think.. Its lovely while i have been researching my family tree to be able to put pictures to names.
